Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist in the Imaging Float Pool at OhioHealth is responsible for operating imaging devices and performing scintigraphic scans as prescribed by physicians. This role involves meticulous patient care and quality control in a healthcare setting committed to wellness and community support.

Key responsibilities

  • Performs scintigraphic scanning as prescribed by physician
  • Conducts image manipulation and quantitative studies
  • Archives patient studies and quality control studies on computer
  • Receives, stores, and prepares radioactive and non-radioactive materials
  • Performs quality control and maintenance procedures for scanning equipment
  • Consults with physicians and provides quality data for interpretation
  • Administers diagnostic or therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals under physician direction
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to patient needs and provides appropriate education and assessment

Required skills

  • Associate's Degree
  • ARRT Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • NMTCB Certification
  • Knowledge of handling and administering radioactive materials
  • Familiarity with nuclear instrumentation
