Overview

The Nuclear Med Tech at St. Peter's Hospital is a part-time role focused on performing various nuclear medicine procedures, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT, while adhering to departmental standards. The position emphasizes quality patient care and includes responsibilities like monitoring patient well-being during exams and addressing physician inquiries.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform high quality nuclear medicine exams on incoming patients
  • Possibly cross-train and perform PET/CT exams
  • Order proper doses and radionuclides for procedures
  • Assay doses to ensure correct radionuclides match procedures
  • Administer radionuclides and contrast safely and effectively
  • Monitor patients' well-being during exams
  • Guide patients through exam processes and address their concerns
  • Respond to physician questions regarding patients

Required skills

  • AAS in health related field or AAS in Nuclear Medicine
  • Current ARRT/N or CNMT certification
  • Current NYS Radiologic license
  • Current ARRT/R or ARRT/CT certification
  • Current NYS Nuclear Medicine license
