Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Radiation Oncology to join their team in Gretna, Louisiana. The role involves collaborating with a team to provide care for outpatient clinic patients, under the supervision of the Medical Director and other approved staff physicians. Responsibilities include primary and urgent medical management, teaching, and patient education.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide primary and urgent medical management for critically ill patients
  • Collaborate with residents, fellows, and staff in patient care
  • Teach and educate residents, medical students, and staff
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing care
  • Deliver patient education and discharge planning
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations

Required skills

  • Master's degree in Nursing for NP or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine for PA
  • Current License as an APRN or Physician Assistant in state of practice
  • ANCC or AANPCP certification for Nurse Practitioners
  • NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants
  • BCLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and data entry
