Job Description

Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Radiation Oncology team in Destrehan, Louisiana. This role involves collaborative medical management, patient education, and teaching responsibilities under the supervision of a Medical Director, working closely with staff and other healthcare providers.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver primary and urgent medical management for outpatient clinic patients.
  • Provide education experiences to patient families and staff.
  • Collaborate with residents, fellows, and staff in delivering care.
  • Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and protocols.
  • Maintain an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices.

Required skills

  • Master's degree in Nursing for NP or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine for PA.
  • Current License as an APRN or Physician Assistant.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows-style applications and various software packages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
