Job Description

Overview

The Oncology Nurse Practitioner provides high-level patient care within a collaborative clinical team in Salem, Oregon. This role involves evaluating new patients, managing treatment, and monitoring post-treatment recovery, while offering support and education related to oncology care.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate and examine new patients
  • Manage patients undergoing chemotherapy and immune therapy
  • Monitor post-treatment recovery
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies upon confirmation of competency
  • Document patient care services in records
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory studies
  • Prescribe and refill medications and oncology treatments
  • Participate in advanced care planning
  • Conduct patient rounds in the hospital

Required skills

  • National certification as ANP, FNP, GNP, or PA-C
  • Current DEA license preferred
  • Strong technical/computer skills and EMR experience
  • Oncology experience or willingness to learn oncology
  • Experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
