Overview

The Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Technician 2 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, GA is responsible for performing NDT to assess product acceptability per established procedures. This role involves recording and evaluating inspection results, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and providing support within a team environment to meet quality objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) to determine product acceptability
  • Record, evaluate, and document inspection results accurately
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards
  • Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment
  • Conduct automated ultrasonic C-scan inspection of composite parts
  • Support workflow coordination to meet priorities, efficiency, and cost objectives
  • Provide technical support to other technicians as needed
  • Perform inspection equipment process control and safety checks
  • Collaborate within a team to ensure quality and safety standards are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of NDT-related experience
  • Certified in at least one NAS 410 NDT method
  • NAS 410 Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Eddy Current (ET)
  • Experience with Through Transmission and Immersion techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Familiarity with Solumina and CATIA V5/6
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical data
  • Basic shop math and measurement skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 40 pounds
