Overview

Duke Health is seeking a Non-Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join their Duke Raleigh Campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role involves cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, and disinfecting medical instruments while maintaining high standards of quality patient care and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Clean, decontaminate, assemble, and disinfect medical instrumentation following established protocols.
  • Maintain communication with departments regarding requests and delivery of sterile supplies.
  • Promote best practices and quality patient care initiatives.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the central processing area and ensure survey readiness.
  • Utilize computerized instrument tracking systems for assigned duties.
  • Perform efficient and punctual distribution of case carts and equipment.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required for hires after 2/18/19)
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterilization techniques preferred
  • Working knowledge of computers required
  • Certification in Sterile Processing and/or Technology required within 2 years of hire date
