Job Description

Overview

The Nightshift Production Supervisor at WestRock in Lansing, Michigan, is responsible for ensuring the timely production of quality products while meeting customer expectations and company compliance standards. This role involves day-to-day management of the production shift, including performance management, conflict resolution, and operational decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Manage daily production and quality goals
  • Oversee staffing, performance management, and employee training
  • Conduct on-time performance reviews for direct reports
  • Analyze and improve departmental metrics related to productivity and safety
  • Foster a collaborative team atmosphere and motivate employees
  • Write and revise standard operating procedures (S.O.Ps)
  • Maintain a clean work environment and lead effective departmental meetings

Required skills

  • High school diploma or G.E.D., college degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience
  • Experience in manufacturing operations, particularly printing
  • Good mechanical aptitude and process-oriented mindset
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to motivate individuals and support teamwork
  • Knowledge of safety rules and operational procedures
