Overview

McGill Environmental Systems is seeking a reliable Night-Shift Security and Fire Prevention Specialist to ensure the safety and security of its facility during non-operational hours. This part-time role involves monitoring for safety hazards, conducting facility walkthroughs, and responding to emergencies, particularly those associated with composting operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain an on-site presence throughout assigned overnight shifts.
  • Conduct scheduled hourly patrols of the facility, including high-risk areas.
  • Document findings from each walkthrough and report any irregularities.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and identify early warning signs of combustion.
  • Ensure all doors, gates, and access points remain secure.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies.
  • Maintain clear and accurate shift logs.

Required skills

  • Previous experience in security, fire prevention, or facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
