Job Description

Overview

As a New Construction Low-Voltage Technician at JM Resources, you will help create smarter, safer, and more connected environments by working on residential and light commercial construction projects. Your responsibilities will include installing low-voltage wiring for security systems, audio visual setups, and smart home automation technologies, ensuring that projects come to life from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

  • Rough-in low-voltage wiring for new construction projects
  • Pull, route, secure, label, and organize wiring for various systems
  • Install wiring for audio, video, cameras, keypads, and other low-voltage devices
  • Read and follow blueprints and project documentation
  • Mount low-voltage hardware according to project specifications
  • Prepare equipment and wiring locations for system activation
  • Coordinate with project managers and other trades
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas on construction sites
  • Manage company tools and materials responsibly
  • Adhere to safety requirements and regulations

Required skills

  • 1-3+ years of experience in low-voltage wiring or new construction installation
  • Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring practices
  • Ability to read blueprints and site documentation
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Effective communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
