Oversees orientation and training and serves as a resource to department staff.Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.Conducts intraoperative monitoring and post-surgical monitoring of stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) during surgical procedures.Performs diagnostic electroencephalograph (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) procedures when not in the operating room.Performs neuromonitoring of routine and continuous EEGs.May perform Magnetoencephalography (MEG) procedures or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) procedures.Works under limited supervision with oversight focused on complex new assignments. Completes a variety of atypical assignments.Routinely checks status of EEG software, troubleshoots, and notifies appropriate service and user personnel when troubleshooting procedures fail.Maintains appropriate logs for statistical and accounting purposes, and purposes and performs calculations for required reports.Assists in quality assurance monitoring, environmental controls, infection control standards, equipment selection, operation, application and inventory.Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
