Overview

Pivotal Placement Services, Inc is seeking a Neonatology Physician Assistant to join their advanced practice team in Wilmington, Delaware. This role involves providing high-level care in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where a dedicated staff cares for critically ill newborns with various medical issues. The position offers a collaborative environment without on-call requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Manages and provides care for patients needing neonatal intensive care in collaboration with team members.
  • Receives distressed neonates in the Delivery Room and initiates appropriate interventions.
  • Performs complete newborn physical examinations and assesses gestational age.
  • Conducts parent interviews and compiles family history.
  • Collaborates with neonatologists on admissions and patient care.
  • Orders laboratory tests and procedures as needed.
  • Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Participates in rounds in the NICU.

Required skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of Neonatal NP/Physician Assistant experience preferred.
  • Current unrestricted Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License or Physician Assistant License.
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification or National Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Phy
  • Current BLS and NRP Certification.
