Job Description

Overview

As an NDT Tech 2 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, you will perform non-destructive testing (NDT) of aircraft components in a team-oriented environment, ensuring compliance with established quality standards. This role requires a commitment to maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and assisting junior technicians while upholding safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive tests (NDT) and determine product acceptability according to prescribed methods and procedures
  • Record, organize, and evaluate test results, entering them into applicable documents
  • Ensure compliance with all radiation safety rules and provide protection during testing
  • Maintain and assure calibration of testing equipment
  • Manage inventory control of area equipment
  • Coordinate NDT inspection workloads based on priorities
  • Provide technical assistance to subordinate NDT technicians
  • Conduct exposure room interlock safety checks and establish radiation safety barriers
  • Perform automated ultrasonic C-scan inspections of composite parts
  • Must be available to work any shift

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of NDT related experience
  • Certified in one NAS 410 NDT method
  • Ability to be certified in a second NDT method within 1 year
  • Experience in blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Proficiency in current computer-based software
  • Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of safety practices
