Overview

The National Commercial Title Underwriter position at bizjobz LLC is a fully remote role focused on complex commercial real estate transactions. The successful candidate will provide underwriting guidance, risk assessment, and strategic support to clients and internal teams, ensuring compliance with underwriting standards and applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide underwriting support and counsel related to real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
  • Apply underwriting standards to assess risk and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Guide internal teams on real estate settlement services and transaction structures.
  • Develop and communicate underwriting guidelines aligned with organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support transaction execution.
  • Manage significant transaction volumes and prioritize tasks effectively.

Required skills

  • 5-7+ years of experience in title insurance underwriting or commercial real estate
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school required for Attorney Counsel position
  • Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction for attorney counsel position
  • General understanding of underwriting real estate transactions
  • Ability to interpret and apply underwriting standards and guidelines
  • Familiarity with federal and state real estate regulations
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Creative and solution-oriented approach to resolving title challenges
