Overview

The Multi-Trade Inspector at La Marque serves a critical role within the Development Services team, focusing on ensuring safe and compliant construction practices. This position emphasizes independent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage various inspections for residential and commercial projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections for compliance with building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and energy codes.
  • Inspect work at various construction stages against approved plans and regulations.
  • Identify and document code violations; issue correction notices and explain remedial actions.
  • Interpret and enforce international codes and local ordinances.
  • Provide technical guidance regarding code requirements and permitting procedures.
  • Investigate complaints related to construction activities and unsafe conditions.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
  • Issue stop work orders when necessary to protect public health and safety.
  • Participate in training and maintain necessary certifications.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of building and construction codes and standards, including ICC model codes.
  • Experience in residential and commercial construction and inspections.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in conducting comprehensive multi-trade inspections.
