Overview

St. Peters Health Partners is seeking a full-time MRI Technologist for their Albany Advanced Imaging location. The role involves performing diagnostic MRI scans while following established protocols and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Obtain and record clinical history pertinent to the examination
  • Evaluate requests for appropriateness and refer concerns as needed
  • Instruct patients about the nature of the exam
  • Communicate effectively with patients during the exam
  • Follow established scan protocols or special instructions from radiologists
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of MRI equipment and accessories
  • Select appropriate technical factors for imaging exams
  • Assist in instructing student technologists and new personnel
  • Ensure patient comfort and accurate positioning
  • Follow proper screening procedures for MRI examination
  • Maintain magnetic field safety at all times
  • Know all MRI emergency procedures
  • Provide hearing protection to patients and visitors
  • Complete required documentation related to patient care and imaging procedures
  • Report incidents, radiation safety concerns, and equipment malfunctions promptly

Required skills

  • AAS Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • 1 year of CT and/or MRI experience
  • Current ARRT registration
  • NYS license
