Overview

The M&P NDT Group - Engineering Group Head II at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for leading a highly technical nondestructive testing (NDT) organization within the Materials & Processes Engineering department. This role focuses on advancing NDT capabilities, introducing new inspection technologies, and overseeing the development of technician training programs to support aircraft development, production, and certification activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee NDT inspection methods for composite and metallic aircraft structures.
  • Supervise M&P NDT Engineers and manage various inspection projects.
  • Evaluate and implement new NDT technologies to enhance inspection capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance in support of engineering projects and production support.
  • Manage and develop a highly technical NDT team, including training and career progression.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Organization to maintain certification and training programs.
  • Serve as the primary interface between NDT and other organizational departments.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Required skills

  • Extensive experience in aerospace NDT, including inspection of composite and metallic structures.
  • Experience with porosity inspection, bond inspection, and advanced ultrasonic techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with TTU systems, including equipment installation and start up.
  • Proven leadership in developing and managing technical teams.
  • Knowledge of NAS 410 for training and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in developing technician training and qualification programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
