Job Description

Overview

The Motor Winder at Wajax Limited will be part of a dedicated mechanical team responsible for winding, assembling, and installing various types of coils. This role involves testing and repairing motors, transformers, and other electrical apparatus to ensure optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Wind, assemble and install various types of coils
  • Test and adjust repaired products for proper functioning
  • Read and interpret diagrams
  • Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors
  • Assemble stators or armatures for heavy-duty electric motors
  • Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components
  • Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear

Required skills

  • Trade certification in Electric Motor Systems Technician (EMST) preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of welding or brazing components
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams
  • Experience instructing apprentices
