Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO, you will play a crucial role in helping customers realize their dream of home ownership. This position involves building and managing a referral network, actively identifying sales opportunities, and collaborating with branch teams to ensure a seamless mortgage process for clients. You will receive industry-leading training and support to help you achieve your full potential in a rewarding sales environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to drive new mortgage business
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to appropriate BMO colleagues
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results
  • Engage with clients to provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the mortgage application process
  • Participate in trade shows and community events to enhance the Bank's presence
  • Conduct analysis and assessments to resolve strategic issues and provide business insights
  • Document updates in internal systems to maintain access to customer information
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and maintain operational integrity in all transactions

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or sales
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and cash management
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively
