Overview

As a BMO Mortgage Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting customers in achieving their dream of home ownership. This position enables you to leverage your entrepreneurial spirit with significant earning potential, supported by industry-leading training and competitive referral programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with a referral network to generate new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer them to appropriate BMO colleagues.
  • Develop and execute effective marketing and sales programs.
  • Conduct outreach to referral and origination sources to promote home financing solutions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application and processing activities.
  • Resolve customer service issues and ensure timely fund advancements.
  • Collaborate with branch teams to finalize mortgage documentation.
  • Document updates and manage customer opportunities in internal systems.
  • Engage with the referral network to generate referrals and mortgage originations.

Required skills

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or a related field.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
