Overview

BMO Financial is seeking a Mortgage Specialist in Cochrane, Alberta, who will play a crucial role in helping customers achieve home ownership. This position offers the chance to use entrepreneurial skills, build a referral network, and receive comprehensive training and support.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to build a pipeline of mortgage business
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer to BMO colleagues as appropriate
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results
  • Contact referral and origination sources to discuss home financing solutions
  • Assist with the implementation of targeted marketing programs and promotions
  • Support the delivery of marketing initiatives and search for cross-sell opportunities
  • Participate in community events to enhance the Bank's presence
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the mortgage application process
  • Resolve customer service issues and escalate complex matters as needed
  • Document updates in internal systems to track customer opportunities
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
