Job Description

Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a critical role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership while building and managing a referral network to increase mortgage business. This position offers extensive training and support, empowering you to identify sales opportunities and execute effective marketing strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to build a pipeline of new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
  • Participate in trade shows and related events to enhance community presence.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application and processing activities.
  • Resolve or escalate customer issues to meet expectations.
  • Collaborate with branch teams to finalize mortgage documentation and handle customer needs.
  • Document updates in BMO's internal systems and analyze data to provide insights.

Required skills

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or related fields.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of personal banking, investments, and cash management.
