Job Description

Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a vital role in helping customers achieve their homeownership dreams while utilizing your entrepreneurial spirit to drive sales in the mortgage market. This position offers the opportunity for extensive training and support while you build and manage relationships within your referral network to generate new mortgage business.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with referral networks to increase mortgage business
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities, referring customers to appropriate BMO colleagues
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to achieve business goals
  • Participate in community events to enhance the Bank's presence and engage potential clients
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support customers throughout the mortgage application process
  • Document customer interactions and manage service requests in compliance with guidelines
  • Analyze market data and provide insights to improve operational efficiency and customer service
  • Work independently while collaborating with branch teams to finalize mortgage documentation

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending and customer service
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Expertise in sales, customer service, and relationship management
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
