Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a crucial role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership. Key responsibilities

  • Cultivates and manages relationships with a referral network to drive new mortgage business.
  • Identifies sales opportunities and refers to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
  • Develops and executes marketing and sales programs to enhance business results.
  • Proactively contacts referral sources and creates partnerships for home financing solutions.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service and guides clients through the mortgage application process.
  • Collaborates with branch teams to ensure customer needs are met and documentation is completed.
  • Resolves customer service issues and escalates persistent or complex matters as needed.
  • Stays updated on consumer needs, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Documents updates in internal systems to maintain customer transaction statuses.
  • Engages in trade shows and community events to enhance the bank's presence.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
