Overview

BMO Financial is seeking a Mortgage Specialist in Edmonton, Alberta to help customers achieve their dream of home ownership. This role involves building and managing relationships with referral networks, identifying sales opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer service while navigating the mortgage lending process.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with referral networks to generate mortgage business
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer customers as needed
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results
  • Assist with the implementation of targeted marketing programs and initiatives
  • Proactively contact referral sources to discuss home financing solutions
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application process
  • Collaborate with branch teams for seamless customer handoffs
  • Resolve customer service issues and escalate when necessary
  • Document customer interactions and updates in internal systems
  • Analyze market trends and provide insights and recommendations

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, trust services, and commercial lending
  • Strong knowledge of the real estate industry and mortgage market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
