Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a crucial role in helping customers achieve home ownership. This position involves cultivating relationships within a referral network, identifying sales opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application process.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with a referral network to generate new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to BMO colleagues.
  • Develop and implement effective marketing and sales programs.
  • Support the delivery of targeted marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Engage with the community at trade shows, conferences, and related events.
  • Guide customers through the mortgage application and processing activities.
  • Resolve customer service issues and ensure timely advancement of funds.
  • Document updates in BMO's internal systems regarding customer opportunities.
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or related fields.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Expertise in personal banking and real estate industry knowledge.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
