Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a vital role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership. This position allows you to leverage your entrepreneurial spirit while providing exceptional customer service and building relationships with a referral network to drive mortgage business.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivates and manages relationships with a referral network to increase mortgage business.
  • Identifies sales opportunities and refers to appropriate colleagues.
  • Develops and executes marketing and sales programs.
  • Contacts referral and origination sources to discuss home financing solutions.
  • Supports targeted marketing programs and seeks cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
  • Establishes community presence by participating in trade shows and events.
  • Guides customers throughout mortgage application and processing activities.
  • Documents updates in internal systems to track customer opportunities.
  • Analyzes data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Works independently while adhering to guidelines and risk management frameworks.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and cash management.
  • Expertise in relationship sales and management.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
