Overview

BMO Financial is seeking a Mortgage Specialist in Penticton, BC, who will play a key role in helping customers achieve home ownership. This position emphasizes building and managing referral networks, identifying sales opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service with the backing of comprehensive training and support.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to build a mortgage business pipeline
  • Identify and refer sales opportunities to BMO colleagues as needed
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results
  • Proactively contact referral and origination sources to discuss home financing solutions
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and guide customers through mortgage application processes
  • Participate in community events to enhance the Bank's presence and engage with potential clients
  • Address customer service issues according to established parameters
  • Document updates in BMO's internal systems regarding customer opportunities
  • Conduct analysis and provide insights to support business strategy

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking and investments
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team collaboration and influence skills
