Overview

BMO Financial is seeking a Mortgage Specialist to join its Retail Banking Sales & Service team in St. John's, NL. This role focuses on helping customers achieve home ownership through mortgage solutions while building and managing a referral network to drive business performance and meet targets. The position is enhanced by industry-leading training and support, allowing for personal and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivates and manages relationships with a referral network to generate new mortgage business
  • Identifies and acts on sales opportunities; refers clients to appropriate BMO colleagues
  • Develops and executes marketing and sales programs to drive business results
  • Contacts and creates partnerships for mortgage solutions
  • Delivers exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application process
  • Completes onboarding activities and ensures compliance with corporate policies
  • Participates in community events to enhance the bank's presence
  • Addresses customer service issues and works towards satisfactory resolutions
  • Documents updates in internal systems for effective communication
  • Engages with referral networks to increase mortgage originations

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending and regulatory requirements
