Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a crucial role in helping customers achieve their dream of homeownership. This position requires building strong relationships with referral networks and executing effective marketing strategies to drive mortgage business while providing exceptional customer service throughout the application and processing stages.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with a referral network to create a pipeline of mortgage business
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to BMO colleagues when appropriate
  • Develop and implement marketing and sales programs to achieve business results
  • Proactively contact referral sources to discuss home financing solutions
  • Participate in community events to enhance the Bank's presence
  • Provide customer advocacy throughout the mortgage application process
  • Resolve customer service issues and ensure timely fund advancement
  • Analyze data and provide insights to support business strategies
  • Document updates in internal systems and ensure operational integrity

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending processes and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking and investments
  • Ability to analyze data and solve problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Creative thinking and adaptability
