Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a critical role in helping customers achieve their home ownership dreams through mortgage financing. You will leverage your entrepreneurial spirit and industry-leading training to build relationships, identify sales opportunities, and manage relationships within a referral network.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network for new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer to BMO colleagues as necessary.
  • Develop and execute effective marketing and sales programs.
  • Participate in community events to enhance BMO's presence.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application process.
  • Collaborate with branch teams for customer hand-offs and documentation finalization.
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory requirements, and consumer needs.
  • Complete onboarding activities and remain compliant with operational integrity.

Required skills

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, and customer service skills
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes and regulations
  • Expert knowledge in personal banking and investments
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in communication and influence skills
