Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial in Calgary, you will play a key role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership. This position requires entrepreneurial spirit and focuses on building and managing relationships to drive mortgage business and increase market share. You will be supported by industry-leading training and have the opportunity to develop a referral network to enhance your sales performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to build a pipeline of new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to appropriate BMO colleagues.
  • Develop and execute effective marketing and sales programs.
  • Assist with the implementation of targeted marketing programs and promotions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service during application and processing activities.
  • Partner with branch teams to finalize mortgage documentation.
  • Address customer service issues and provide solutions.
  • Gather and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.

Required skills

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or related field
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in relationship management and networking
