Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial in Vancouver, you will play a crucial role in helping customers achieve their home ownership dreams. The position requires building and managing relationships within a referral network to drive mortgage business and enhance BMO's market share. With industry-leading training and support, you will have the opportunity to exceed individual sales goals while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to build mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer customers to appropriate BMO colleagues.
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
  • Engage with community events to enhance the Bank's presence.
  • Complete onboarding activities and guide customers throughout the mortgage process.
  • Collaborate with branch teams for customer hand-offs and document finalizations.
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with operational guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Search for cross-sell and up-sell opportunities in branch interactions.

Required skills

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in banking or sales.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with personal banking, investments, and commercial lending.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
