Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a vital role in assisting customers with their home ownership aspirations while leveraging your entrepreneurial spirit to drive business performance. The position involves building and managing a referral network, identifying sales opportunities, and executing effective marketing strategies to enhance BMO's market presence in home financing.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to generate new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer customers to appropriate BMO colleagues.
  • Develop and implement marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives and support community presence through events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application process.
  • Coordinate with branch teams to finalize mortgage documentation and manage customer handoffs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations related to mortgage products.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or related fields.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulations.
  • Interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in relationship sales and management.
