Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a crucial role in helping customers achieve home ownership by providing expert guidance throughout the mortgage application process. Key responsibilities

  • Cultivates and manages relationships with a referral network to build a pipeline of new mortgage business
  • Identifies sales opportunities and refers customers to appropriate BMO colleagues
  • Develops and executes effective marketing and sales programs
  • Contacts referral and origination sources to lead discussions about home financing solutions
  • Participates in community events to enhance BMO's community presence
  • Delivers exceptional customer service and advocates for clients during the application process
  • Completes onboarding activities and resolves customer service issues
  • Collaborates with branch teams for customer hand-off and finalization of mortgage documentation
  • Documents updates in internal systems for transaction tracking
  • Engages with referral networks to generate mortgage originations

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Expertise in personal lending, relationship sales, and management
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking and investments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaboration and team skills
