Job Description

Overview

BMO Financial is seeking a Mortgage Specialist for its Halifax location. This role is centered around helping customers achieve home ownership while building and managing a network for mortgage referrals. The Mortgage Specialist will receive extensive training, support, and opportunities to create partnerships to drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with referral networks to generate mortgage business
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to appropriate BMO colleagues
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results
  • Participate in trade shows and community events to enhance the Bank's presence
  • Provide customer service and guidance throughout mortgage application processes
  • Document updates in internal systems regarding customer transactions and issues
  • Support targeted marketing initiatives and analyze customer needs

Required skills

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending processes and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, and customer service skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Experience with personal banking and real estate industries
