Overview

BMO Financial is hiring a Mortgage Specialist in Moncton, New Brunswick. This role provides the opportunity to help customers achieve home ownership while working towards personal sales and profitability goals. The position requires building and managing a referral network and executing effective marketing strategies, along with delivering excellent customer service throughout the mortgage application process.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships to build a pipeline of new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer to other BMO colleagues as needed.
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive results.
  • Proactively contact referral sources and create partnerships for home financing discussions.
  • Assist with targeted marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Support cross-sell and up-sell opportunities with branch teams.
  • Participate in community events to enhance the bank's presence.
  • Guide customers through the mortgage application process.
  • Resolve customer service issues and ensure timely funds advancement.
  • Document updates in internal systems and analyze data for insights.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and cash management
  • Communication skills - verbal and written
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate within a team environment
