Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a crucial role in helping customers realize their dreams of home ownership. This position offers extensive training and support to cultivate your entrepreneurial skills and build a strong referral network to drive mortgage business and enhance BMO's market share in home financing.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships within a referral network to generate new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to appropriate BMO colleagues.
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
  • Actively seek partnerships and engage with community events to expand the bank's presence.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application and processing activities.
  • Resolve customer service issues and ensure timely advancement of funds.
  • Provide guidance on banking products and refer customers as needed to other BMO services.
  • Document updates and manage customer information in internal systems.
  • Analyze data and provide insights for business strategy execution.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or related field.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Expertise in personal lending and relationship sales.
  • Knowledge of banking, investments, trust services, and cash management.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
