Job Description

Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial in Winnipeg, you will play a key role in helping customers achieve home ownership through comprehensive mortgage solutions. You will build and manage a referral network while actively pursuing sales opportunities to enhance BMO's presence in the home financing market.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to generate new mortgage business
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to appropriate BMO colleagues
  • Develop and implement marketing and sales programs to drive mortgage business results
  • Contact referral sources to discuss home financing solutions
  • Assist in targeted marketing initiatives and community engagement events
  • Deliver exceptional customer service during the mortgage application process
  • Provide advice and support to clients regarding banking products and services
  • Document updates and track customer opportunities in internal systems
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations for business strategy
  • Ensure compliance with operational guidelines and regulatory requirements

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Team collaboration and influence skills
