Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you'll have the opportunity to leverage your entrepreneurial spirit to help customers achieve their home ownership dreams. This role involves building and managing relationships to develop a pipeline of new mortgage business, along with marketing and sales program execution to drive results.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivates and manages relationships with referral networks to increase mortgage business
  • Identifies sales opportunities and refers clients to BMO colleagues
  • Develops and executes marketing and sales programs
  • Contacts and creates partnerships with referral sources
  • Delivers exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application process
  • Collaborates with branch teams for customer handoff and documentation
  • Addresses customer service issues and escalates as needed
  • Analyzes data for insights and reports
  • Completes transactions while ensuring compliance with operational guidelines

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services
  • Post-secondary degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Expertise in personal lending and relationship management
  • Functional knowledge of personal finance and investments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
