Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you'll play a crucial role in helping customers achieve home ownership while leveraging your entrepreneurial spirit to drive business performance. You'll be supported with industry-leading training and the opportunity to build a strong referral network to enhance your mortgage business.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate, build, and manage relationships with a referral network to generate new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer to colleagues as appropriate.
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
  • Contact referral and origination sources to promote home financing solutions.
  • Support targeted marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Engage in cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
  • Participate in community events to enhance the bank's presence.
  • Guide customers throughout the mortgage application process.
  • Collaborate with branch teams to finalize mortgage documentation.
  • Resolve customer service issues and ensure timely fund advances.
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with operational guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or related field.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Expertise in personal banking, investments, and cash management.
  • Knowledge of real estate industry and mortgage market.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration and team skills.
