Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a vital role in helping customers achieve their home ownership dreams. You will receive comprehensive training and support while managing relationships within a referral network to generate mortgage business and enhance BMO's market share in home financing.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivates and manages relationships to build a mortgage business pipeline.
  • Identifies sales opportunities and refers clients to appropriate BMO colleagues.
  • Develops and executes marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
  • Follows corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Contacts referral sources to discuss home financing solutions.
  • Promotes cross-sell and up-sell opportunities to achieve sales goals.
  • Participates in community events to enhance the bank's presence.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and guidance during the mortgage application process.
  • Liaises with various teams to ensure seamless processing of mortgage applications.
  • Analyzes data to provide insights and recommendations to improve business strategies.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in banking or finance
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and cash management
  • Fluency in French and English for client support
