Job Description

Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a crucial role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership by utilizing your sales abilities and industry knowledge. You will receive comprehensive training and support while building your referral network to drive mortgage business and enhance BMO's market presence.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to generate new mortgage business
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer to BMO colleagues as appropriate
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to drive business results
  • Proactively contact referral sources to discuss home financing solutions
  • Assist with the implementation of targeted marketing programs
  • Search for cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
  • Participate in community events to enhance the Bank's presence
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application process
  • Help coordinate the handoff of customers to branch teams and finalize documentation
  • Address customer service issues and escalate as necessary
  • Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations
  • Document customer interactions and transactions in internal systems

Required skills

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Expertise in personal lending and relationship management
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending
  • Familiarity with the real estate industry and mortgage market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Influence skills
