Overview

BMO Financial is seeking a Mortgage Specialist in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. This role is crucial in helping customers achieve home ownership by cultivating relationships with a referral network and actively identifying sales opportunities. Candidates will benefit from industry-leading training and support as they work to build their mortgage business and increase BMO's market share.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivates and manages relationships with a referral network to build a pipeline of new mortgage business
  • Identifies sales opportunities and makes referrals to BMO colleagues
  • Develops and executes effective marketing and sales programs
  • Proactively contacts referral sources to discuss home financing solutions
  • Assists with targeted marketing programs and promotions
  • Seeks opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling
  • Participates in community events to enhance the Bank's presence
  • Guides customers throughout the mortgage application and processing activities
  • Documents updates in BMO's internal systems
  • Analyzes data to provide insights and recommendations
  • Exercises judgment to identify and solve problems within established rules

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, business lending, and cash management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work in teams
