Overview

The Mortgage Specialist role at BMO Financial in Edmonton involves helping customers achieve home ownership through mortgage financing. Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to generate mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to BMO colleagues as needed.
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application process.
  • Participate in community events to enhance BMO's presence.
  • Analyze customer needs and provide recommendations for banking products.
  • Document updates in internal systems regarding customer opportunities.
  • Conduct independent analysis to resolve strategic issues.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or related fields.
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
