Overview

BMO Financial is seeking a Mortgage Specialist in Calgary, Alberta, to help customers achieve their home ownership dreams. This role involves building relationships within a referral network, identifying mortgage sales opportunities, and executing marketing programs to strengthen BMO's market presence in home financing.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships to build a pipeline of new mortgage business.
  • Identify sales opportunities and collaborate with BMO colleagues.
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs.
  • Assist with marketing program implementation and participate in community events.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and guide customers through mortgage application processes.
  • Resolve or escalate customer service issues to meet expectations.
  • Document updates in internal systems for tracking outstanding opportunities.
  • Perform independent analysis and provide recommendations based on business strategy.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in mortgage lending and financial services.
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking, investments, and cash management.
  • Expert communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
