Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a crucial role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership. Key responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with a referral network to drive new mortgage business
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer leads to BMO colleagues as appropriate
  • Develop and execute marketing and sales programs to enhance business results
  • Proactively contact referral and origination sources for partnership opportunities
  • Provide exceptional customer service during mortgage application and processing
  • Collaborate with branch teams for customer handoffs and finalize mortgage documentation
  • Seek cross-sell and up-sell opportunities for existing banking products
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and consumer needs
  • Document customer interactions in BMO's internal systems
  • Conduct analysis to offer insights and recommendations supporting business strategy

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience combined with a post-secondary degree
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, and customer service skills
  • Expert knowledge of personal lending, relationship management, and teamwork
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, commercial lending, and cash management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaboration and influence skills
