Overview

As a Mortgage Specialist at BMO Financial, you will play a vital role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership. This position involves building and managing a referral network, identifying sales opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the mortgage application process.

Key responsibilities

  • Cultivates and manages relationships with a referral network to generate new mortgage business.
  • Identifies sales opportunities and refers customers to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
  • Develops and executes marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
  • Acts as a customer advocate during application and processing activities.
  • Proactively contacts referral sources to lead discussions on home financing solutions.
  • Participates in trade shows, conferences, and events to enhance community presence.
  • Resolves customer issues and ensures timely advancement of funds.
  • Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
  • Completes transactions in compliance with guidelines and requirements.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or related field
  • Post-secondary degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Expert knowledge of personal lending, relationship management, and teamwork
  • Functional knowledge of personal banking, investments, and commercial lending
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaboration and team skills
