Overview

PLF Real Estate Solutions is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Processor to join their growing mortgage team in Downey, California. The role involves guiding borrowers through the loan fulfillment process, ensuring accuracy and exceptional service while maintaining a fast-paced pipeline for timely closings.

Key responsibilities

  • Review mortgage loan applications for completeness and accuracy
  • Collect, verify, and analyze borrower documentation including income and assets
  • Submit files to underwriting and work closely to clear conditions
  • Maintain communication with borrowers, loan officers, and third-party vendors
  • Order and track required services like appraisals and title checks
  • Identify potential red flags and ensure compliance with agency guidelines
  • Manage and maintain pipeline to meet closing deadlines
  • Prepare final approval files and coordinate closing packages
  • Deliver a high-level customer experience through consistent updates

Required skills

  • 2+ years of experience as a mortgage loan processor
  • Strong knowledge of AUS systems (DU/LP) and mortgage guidelines
  • Understanding of income calculation methods
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working with mortgage LOS systems (Encompass, LendingPad, Calyx)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
