Job Description

Overview

Lakeside Bank is seeking a full-time Mortgage Loan Processor/Closer to join their Mortgage Loan Operations team in Oak Brook, Illinois. This role involves preparing, processing, assembling, verifying, and closing residential mortgage loans in alignment with bank and investor guidelines, allocating 70% of the time to processing and 30% to closing responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Review loan application packages for completeness and accuracy
  • Perform quality control on loan packages to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Verify supporting income, asset, and liability documentation
  • Prepare and submit loan files in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae underwriting guidelines
  • Utilize Encompass and LaserPro software effectively in processing and closing
  • Prepare closing documents ensuring accuracy of fees and conditions
  • Coordinate with title companies for loan closings
  • Manage wire activity related to loan transactions
  • Resolve post-closing deficiencies according to investor requirements
  • Support a collaborative team environment through cross-training

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of mortgage loan processing and closing
  • Understanding of TRID and Closing Disclosure requirements
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Encompass, LaserPro, and FiServ DNA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of RESPA, Regulation Z, and CFPB guidelines
